Matthew 24:11 ESV
“And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.”
In the past year, two well-known, prominent Christians have renounced their faith. Many others have done so as well, these are just the most recent, notable conversions.
- Josh Harris, a pastor and author of the best-selling purity book I Kissed Dating Goodbye.
- Marty Sampson, Hillsong United songwriter and worship leader
John Cooper, the lead singer of the Christian rock band, Skillet, made a Facebook post entitled “What in God’s Name is Happening in Christianity?”
In it, he says “We are in a dangerous place when the church is looking to 20-year-old worship singers as our source of truth,” he wrote. “We now have a church culture that learns who God is from singing modern praise songs rather than from the teachings of the Word.” And also said, “We must STOP making worship leaders and thought leaders or influencers or cool people or ‘relevant’ people the most influential people in Christendom.”

Matthew 24:12 ESV
“And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.”
The definition of lawlessness is “a state of disorder due to a disregard of the law.”
You can watch any local news channel and all you see is a blatant disregard for the law. Even social media is filled with constant reminders of our nation’s lawlessness. My newsfeed constantly is asking for help finding thieves, missing children/kidnappers, people involved with sex trafficking, murderers, rapists, etc. We don’t live in Mayberry anymore…
Luke 21:11 ESV
“There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.”

Pestilence is defined as “a fatal epidemic disease, such as bubonic plague.” Have you heard of Covid-19 (also referred to as Corona Virus)? It’s killed over 22,000 people worldwide to-date and there are nearly 500,000 confirmed cases (again to-date).
Perhaps the “scariest” thing to me stems from the new stimulus bill that was just passed (March 25, 2020). In the bill, the U.S. states it is establishing a central bank with digital currency. The bill establishes a digital dollar that will be kept in a digital wallet. If you’re a reader of the Bible and a follower of Christ, you will know that in the end times, you will be forced to get “the mark of the beast” in order to purchase anything. This is a baby step in that direction.
Revelation 13:16-17 ESV
“It will be forced on all people, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.”

“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God…”

I know people have said for hundreds of years that prophecy has been fulfilled and Jesus would be returning soon, but I feel like now, more than ever, I can see these prophecies aligning. I worry for my family. I worry for my nation. I worry for my world. But I give all my worry to God and know that he is the ONLY one who can carry the weight of this. God be with us all!
